High energy efficiency coupled with electric propulsion yield an energy elegant, carbon free mode of transportation. And to enable on-demand transport, Hyperloop pods are much smaller than most planes and trains and are designed to depart as often as every 10 seconds.
The compressed air is then used to levitate the pod via air bearings. Electric braking and, if necessary, mechanical air braking, combined with fully automated, driver-less control create an ultra-safe transportation solution.
The compressor sucks in air instead of displacing it. The pod is “pulled” pulled forward rather than “pushed” as in traditional modes of transportation.
The ultra-low pressure environment creates a near vacuum for the pod to travel through, allowing speeds of up to 700 miles per hour. Electric propulsion drives and brakes the pod.

Transportation via Hyperloop occurs inside a fully enclosed tube that maintains an ultra-low pressure environment. This allows the pod, which is powered by an electric propulsion system, to travel extremely fast overcoming very little air resistance.
