Corn Planting to Boost Monsanto (NYSE:MON) Results

$SYT

Biotech seed giant Monsanto (NYSE:MON) is likely to beat Wall Street analysts’ consensus EPS estimate of 2.06 when it reports F-Q-3 earnings Wednesday

Not that anyone will much notice as participants are focused by the slow-moving and largely 1-sided merger dance Monsanto is attempting to lead with rival Syngenta (NYSE:SYT), according analysts.

They believe higher-than-expected Corn planting by US farmers will help Monsanto outpace expectations as planting conditions have favored the grain, helping offset lower prices for Monsanto’s seed prices in an environment where farmers’ wallets have been pinched by low commodity prices.
